“Gray Divorce” is increasing. This course will focus on the evolving understanding of the use of reverse mortgages in financial planning for seniors who are divorcing.

It will include examination of the transactions in which reverse mortgages can help both parties obtain new homes with no debt service and transactions in which one party remains in the couple’s home and uses a reverse mortgage to purchase the other party’s interest in the home.

The course will also consider the ways in which these transactions can increase the parties’ invested assets for retirement income and the income tax implications of these transactions.
